Jovii Hendrix on SoundBetter

Artist, Multi-Platinum Billboard Award Winning Producer, Top-Line Songwriter, Melodic Vocal Arranger, Creator, Innovator, 5x BMI Award Winner, Warner Chappell

Jovii Hendrix, Producer, artist, vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His musical journey is a true story of taking nothing and turning it into something. Given up at birth by his 15 year old mother, Jovii Hendrix was born with the gift of music. He never learned how to read music. He just had the ear for sound creation and played by ear. The Georgia native lived in the projects with his cousin who was a exotic dancer at a popular gentlemen’s club in Atlanta. It was there where she introduced Jovii’s music to the club Dj. The Dj went crazy over what he heard and introduced Jovii to the R&B group Silk. He later went on to write and produce for Silk and also was featured on the song “I Wonder” on Silks “Tonight” album. He was sought out by the Great Babyface and signed to Edmonds Publishing at 19. Life was great until he lost his wife in 2008 to a drunk driver. On top of that, he was conned by his music manager. Millions were stolen from him and his estate. Through it all Jovii’s faith in God gave him strength and he arose out of the ashes and overcame that tragedy and pain. Turning to the one thing he knew, Music. Jovii started producing and writing again for everyone from Flo Rida “Whistle” to Lil Wayne and J.Lo. And he also started focusing on his solo music. His 1st introduction to the world pays homage to one of his mentors, Prince!
