Interview with Full Assault Studios

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am currently working on a studio album with an up and coming rock band Galleons.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both honestly. Analog is very warm and clean. Digital is fast, innovative, and tight. I never limit myself to one thing. Whatever complements the song is what you should use.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I promise to mix and master your song as if it were my own. I will be honest and constructive to get you were you want to be as well as support and promote your music. I will consult you and actively work to deliver you the sound you are looking for!

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love being part of an industry of artists. Music is a passion so I never work a day in my life.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Don't be afraid to experiment and take your time on tracking. Leave enough headroom for the mix and most of all relax and have fun.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I usually work on rock, hip hop, and R&B

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I bring an Artists like approach. I am a performer myself, so understanding the Art behind music composition helps me understand the creative perfect imperfections in a song most engineers mix out.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: Depending on the project I usually start with a Free Consultation. Music is Personal I would not be doing my job right if I don't understand the emotion and meaning behind the song. After the consultation I spend time listening and planning the sound we talked about (unpaid time). After that I will execute the mix and master. I do revisions to help you achieve the best sound possible.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: In My studio I work on a mac In Logic Pro X. My Interface is a Focusrite 18i20 and a Focusrite itrack solo (Mobile productions) I also have a Tube Preamp By Art that I run my inputs through. I also have some great plugins I use day to day to achieve unique sounds.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: A lot of my inspiration came from Dave Grohl originally. I grew up listening to Nirvana and Foo Fighters, so naturally I looked up to him as a musician. I used to mix my own music and music for friends. After watching Dave Grohl's sound city documentary I really wanted to give back to the industry I grew to love and help other artists grow.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: I commonly Mix and Master song for Clients all over the Globe. I also Produce Music for various Genres. I have brought in artists to my studio as well to do a Full EP.
