Interview with Casper Østergaard

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My own EDM project a while a go. It was before the big "EDM bubble" hit us. I was sitting in my studio with a friend of mine watching ULTRA Miami and then my track got played on mainstage.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Primarily my own projects, but also some pop instrumentals and some ghost productions for other artists.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I have just recently signed up for SB so its to early to say, but there's a lot of talent in here!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital. I like that I can have everything In The Box.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: That I will do my best. It would be easy to say that "I will deliver a hit track", but unfortunately that is not always how it goes.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The creative aspect of making music. When you have nailed the track it feels like magic.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: "What will it cost?" Answer: It depends on the scope of the work in the track. - All tracks are different...

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I make "Techno"... Electronic music is everywhere and is more and more accepted as a way of doing commercial music.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: 1. What do you want from the track? 2. Is it for radio or clubs? 3. What style are you looking for? 4. What do you expect from me to do for the track?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: To get the best result I need to know what direction the customer wants to go with the track. Some references would be great.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Macbook Pro Apollo Twin MKII Sennheiser HD650 Headphones NI Komplete Keyboard Aston Origin (Mic)

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Electronic with a pop vibe.
