Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jupiter Apple, Juno Reactor, The Prodigy, Dream Theater, Sonata Arctica and Whale band (this last, unfortunately with no activity for a long time) are my top inspirations for composing. Carlos Freitas, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, is a very well reputable mastering engineer who can i respect his line of professional thought, thus following his philosophy of work.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I use the "All In The Box" work method, where the processes involve professional softwares and plugins. Today I work with Logic Pro and Studio One Professional, in set with the Brainworx, Native Instruments and Waves plugins. At the moment, i'm not using anything analogical.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm working in my own home studio. Yes, it is a home studio, but isn't excuse to disapprove my quality and professionalism. Check out my portfolio and your will see the great quality of my work! I currently work with an AKG 702 phone and a few others, such as Philips and LG low-end, which have different sound profiles and so I get great results with the set. I use a pair of Yamaha HS80 monitors because my studio is not small, and compose songs using a Nektar Panorama P6 keyboard, with my M-Audio audio interface and a mid-2015 MacBook Pro.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to fulfill the combined requirements in hiring. I'll never quit the job, either doing something you don't agree to. Respect and trust, it's my motto.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "How soon can you get the job done?" I'll dedicate myself to reach our goal, but quality is the priority. "It will be good?" It will be!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Oh man, give me a laptop, a keyboard, headphones, a chair and a desk! lol
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: We will be partners! Your great satisfaction will be the success of my work! This is not a hobby, i really am an experienced professional and work only with audio treatments and music production in my own home studio, full time.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Until today, people think i'm a DJ cause my graduation is Bachelor of Technology in Electronic Music Production. I'd love to be a DJ, but today i'm not, lol.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: About references and expectable. The normal brief. That depends on what work i'm going to do.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I composed, produced, make the mixing and mastering, until the distribution of my own album, A Merge Of Emotions. That work explores different musical genres in a single album, mixing its diverse sensations along a sound progression focused on the instrumental aspect. It is very eclectic!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Carlos Freitas, mastering engineer from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I do not think it matters whether it's analog or digital. Both technologies perform excellent jobs. The result of a job depends on the professional's experience and how it handles their work tools.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like the control. I can perform actions that may surprise my clients and that's amazing.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career is on ascension. I graduated in the middle-2017 and before that i worked amateur. I've made music for many years, but in a professional way, just now.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I think i have several styles. I do not usually close myself in a bubble, much less tie me to momentum hypes. I have many influences, i have my favorite tastes, but i consider myself an eclectic musician.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Juno Reactor. His musical variation and integration with other musicians and artists unite characters and elements in a very eclectic way.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I manage my own professional website for my audio works, with my portfolio, bio, discography and all the information about me and my services, from music production to mixing and mastering. But the English Version still under construction. Sorry about that. Also, i am licensing my music to libraries such as Music Dealers and Songtradr.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus on a theme and imagine the story began. First, you need to create in your head.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I receive from my clients songs for mixing and mastering, which i request to send via Wetransfer so that i can do all the remote work. Usually, i compose for advertising and audiovisual projects in general.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic basis, but, without genres restrictions. My personal work, for example, involves aspects of rock bands, as well as dance music for clubs, like techno style, trance, etc.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Dedication. Because i accomplish my goal with the best possible result for the clients.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A strong character from a stunner and living identity. Very captivating.
