This was my first time making a song this way. I asked Adam for a dance track and gave him a few references that I will then write a song on top of. I also had a tight turnaround. Adam was able to fit me in and It came back first time exactly what I had in mind. Can't wait to work with it. Thanks Adam

Interview with Adam Kapit
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I use both! Analogue provides a liveliness and richness that you cant get with digital plugins. However digital instruments and fx provide infinite possibilities and fast, creative sound design options.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I put my heart into everything I do and go above and beyond for my clients and collaborators. I promise pay attention to every detail and deliver the highest quality work possible!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, a mic, my prophet 6 analogue synth, and 2 guitars.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Music has been an integral part of my life since early childhood and something I naturally gravitated towards and excelled at. I grew up playing many instruments as a kid and eventually graduated from a top rated music school on a nearly full scholarship. While in college and afterwards I gained lots of experience working at recording studios in NYC and major record labels. My first professional placement was 14 years ago when a song I co wrote and produced ended up in a Hyundai car commercial with a big artist and have focused all my efforts on my production career ever since.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Keep it simple, dont use too many sounds. Just focus on making sure what you do include is really great and interesting.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, hip-hop, Rnb, electronic, kpop and anything top 40
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The diversity of services I can offer, attention to detail, and obsession with quality
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I take songs and elevate them to the next level, ready to be released to the masses and on par-quality wise with the songs you see on the charts today. I have a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of music and audio ranging from music theory and composition to the technicalities of audio production and modern mixing techniques and trends.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depending on the type of work I am doing, I would typically start off by having a conversation with the artist about their goals, aspirations, influences and the type of music they want to make. I'd then transition into showing how I can help bring their vision to life. I'm an open book and willing to have whatever conversation is necessary to make sure we are on the same page. I offer my opinions and suggestions when needed and look to fuse that with the vision of my clients. It is my goal to make sure that the people I am working with have the highest quality work that is radio ready and competitive with today's hit records.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is located in a great and inspiring location in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. I generally use the Manley Reference Cardiod mic for recording vocals but sometimes this changes based on the singer. My room is treated and I use Focal monitors and the mastering quality Prism Sound interface. I have a bunch of analogue synths, outboard gear and musical instruments.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love and listen to all genres of music and constantly have my ear to the ground. Some producers I have looked up to over the years (in no particular order) are: Quincy Jones, Phil Ramone, Timbaland, Nile Rodgers, Rick Rubin, Dr. Dre, Mark Ronson, Max Martin, Pharrell, Hit-Boy, Kanye, Diplo, Skrillex, Deadmau5, Dr. Luke and more!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production, mixing, vocal editing and tuning, recording and career advice/consultation
