Pro session guitarist & producer: 20+ released records, music for TV and parts that make your song shine. State-certified musician from Germany delivering mix-ready electric & acoustic guitars, arrangements and full productions, recorded remotely.
I’m Henning, a German session guitarist, producer and mixing engineer with two decades of professional experience. As a state-certified professional musician based in Freiburg, I’ve played on and produced 20+ released records and written music for TV formats, including work connected to ARTE. I record polished, mix-ready guitar parts and take songs from rough demo to finished production.
Guitar is at the centre of everything I do. Recording 320+ videos for a classical guitar maker taught me how to capture an instrument so it sounds natural and alive. I also took a guitar-building course, so I know my instruments down to the wood. As a writer for Professional Audio magazine since 2013 and a longtime teacher, I can talk tech or keep it simple.
What I Offer
- Session guitar: electric & acoustic, rhythm, leads, textures
- Arrangements: parts that serve the song
- Production: from demo to release-ready track
- Mixing: musical mixes with a focus on guitars
- Music for picture: video, ads, online content

Interview with Henning Hellfeld
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As every musician I bring my typical tone and sound to a song. My catalouge is pretty large, but I always play in my own style.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I track for songs I start listening to the track first and imagine what would suit best for the song and the genre. I play around with some ideas and sound and than I track my guitar in my personal style.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Macbook Pro combined with ma UAD Apollo interface with a bunch of UAD plugins to shape he sound. I'm listening through my Neumann monitors and I love their microphones as well ;)
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Music which is done mit passion an emotion is very special for me. Over all genres.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
