Jedidiah Allcock on SoundBetter

Previously of Abbey Road Studios, Jed is a mastering engineer at Le Lab Mastering, Montreal.

Relocating to Montreal from the post production department at Abbey Road Studios (London), Jed joins the team at Le Lab Mastering. Whilst practising at Abbey Road, he developed his craft amongst some of the most talented and revered audio minds in the business. Jed offers a knowledge steeped in history alongside a deep understanding of analogue tape, working with artists such as The Beatles/McCartney, Kate Bush, Ry Cooder, and Coldplay. At Abbey Road Jed led a team of five, delivering archives for Warners, Universal, Decca, and Mute Records to name a few. Hours of critical listening have put him at ease handling all genres of music.

Jed holds a first class degree in Music Production from Leeds College of Music, UK and also is a producer/songwriter. His understanding and appreciation of the creative process underpins his vision and ethos; and he focusses on grasping the intentions and essence of the music, prior to mastering. Aside from meticulous attention to sonic detail, Jed understands the journey the artist has taken to arrive at the mastering stage and aims to enhance the musicality of the record first and foremost.
