I don't have many credits, but I love mixing and playing music. If you need someone to play or create a part with the character you want for your song, I got you. I offer bass and guitar work. I prefer moodier stuff, it's what im best at. If you want someone who can mix your music cheap and help you find your sound, I got you.

Whats up, I write and record stuff a whole bunch. I also like helping other people out, I'm a professional multi instrumentalist being best at bass and guitar but one of my main strengths is songwriting and finding the character in a song. I also love mixing and making some great things come to life.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with billydvaney

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Be certain in what you're looking to get out of the service. Have it written down, laid out and tweak it so you know when you hit send you're getting the message across. If you've got a clear plan not only will the provider deliver better, but you'll be happier too.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: On a desert islandn number one would be an acoustic guitar, makes sense as theres no power. Two some picks would be good. Three maybe some wind chimes to play along too, it'll get lonely. Four, more picks cuz the others will dissapear. Five a kick drum to play with the guitar probably.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I'm only 22, but I've been playing music since I was 7. I've been mixing for about 3 years now, still got a long path ahead.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Atmospheric, Driving, Intense and moody. That's all the stuff I love

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: There's a band I love called Bambara. I'd just love to see their process.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Don't stop learning and when you get a gut feeling trust it

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Goth, Post-Punk, Shoegaze, Indie anything Alternative really.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: I wont stop till I know I've got something exciting.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: I feel I've got a good sense when it comes to serving a song. I know I can trust my judgement on riff ideas and the general world Im looking at in front of me when in a song.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: If I'm mixing, get it in logic and just listen to the track a couple times, figure out what this song is going to do. Get through the EQing, Compression etc then start adding the bells and whistles to taste. For session work a similar approach, absorb the song and where my part would play in that then get working on it. Once I've got a concrete Idea I'll record it, share it with the client and we go from there.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: My macbook, Logic pro, a trusty scarlett 2i2, Mexican Fender PJ bass, AM Pro II Jazzmaster, Fender twin reverb and a pair of yamaha studio monitors.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: I'm a big fan of post-punk and shoegaze, lots of verb and mood. I find it hard to get inspired by stuff that sounds too happy. The cure, Fontaines D.C and DIIV are big personal influences to me

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: I mostly do production work in terms of songcraft and arrangment, mixing and session work.
