My name is Sam Hepworth. I independently run Garage Studios in Liverpool, UK, as a producer, recording, mixing, and mastering engineer. I collaborate with local Liverpool artists as well as clients from across the UK and internationally, taking projects from initial tracking through to commercial, release-ready masters.
I am a guitarist with a background in performing with bands. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Audio Production from SAE Liverpool. My philosophy prioritises authentic performances over excessive or unnecessary pitch-correction and robotic quantising.
Multitrack Mixing: Elevating home-recorded multitracks, university projects, or studio sessions needing an outside mix. I work to your brief and reference tracks, mixing through a pristine RME signal path with physical SSL control for levelling and automation.
Mastering: Translation-focused tonal balance and commercial loudness for streaming, inc. Spotify and Apple Music. Metadata, ISRC encoding, DDP files for CD/vinyl provided on request.
Valve Re-Amping: Direct DI stems re-amped via Marshall, Jet City, Vox rigs for valve/tube saturation and real room tone, or high-end Line 6 Helix LT modelling.
Live Drums & Overdubs: Directed live-room tracking with professional session drummers, plus guitar/bass tracking.
