Personally, I consider AIVAN one of the most virtuosic and talented singers I've ever heard in my life. His vocal range is crazy, and he really knows how to pour emotion into every single phrase.

Interview with AIVAN

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Collaborating on international Dance and Pop releases where I wrote the topline and recorded the full vocal arrangement from scratch—hearing a hook that started as a voice note in my studio get streamed around the world never gets old.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Releasing new original music under my artist project while collaborating on topline and vocal sessions for Dance, Pop, and Latin producers across Europe and the US.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Doug V

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital for speed, recall, and surgical vocal editing, paired with a great analog front-end when tracking to capture warmth right at the source.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Clear communication, fast turnaround, and industry-standard vocal stems that sit effortlessly in your mix.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: That moment when a client hears their instrumental with vocals for the very first time and the track suddenly feels like a finished record.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: "Can you sing in both English and Spanish?" Yes, I write and record fluently in both languages, or blend them seamlessly for bilingual crossover tracks."

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That session singing is just hitting the right pitch. Great vocal work is about phrasing, texture, pocket, and selling the emotion of the lyric.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What's the story or mood behind the track? Do you have specific vocal references? And will you need dry stems, tuned stems, or a fully produced vocal stack?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Share 1 or 2 reference tracks and tell me the exact emotion you want the listener to feel. The clearer the vibe upfront, the faster we'll hit a home run.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My laptop, an Apollo Twin interface, a Neumann condenser mic, my beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones, and a MIDI keyboard.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started my formal vocal training in Caracas with renowned coach Manolo de Freitas, which led to national tours and competing on televised singing realities. Over the years, I transitioned into studio songwriting and session singing, working with international producers, labels, and independent artists worldwide.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Modern, emotive, and energetic blending sleek Pop sensibilities with Latin warmth and electronic drive.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Calvin Harris or The Weeknd. They both master the balance between nostalgic, emotional melodies and massive, club-ready production.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Never underestimate vocal arrangement and contrast. A subtle, breathy verse paired with tight doubles and wide harmonies in the chorus will make a drop hit ten times harder than over-compressing a single lead vocal.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, Dance/EDM (House, Tech House, Melodic Dance), Synth-Pop, and Latin Pop/Urbano.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Crafting infectious, earworm toplines and delivering versatile, emotive vocal performances that cut right through heavy Pop and Electronic productions.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Emotion, replay value, and an authentic crossover edge. Having trained vocally and performed on national stages and TV realities, I don't just sing the notes, I perform the record so the listener actually feels the story.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: 1) We align on your track’s vibe, references, and vision. 2) I record a rough vocal/melody demo so we can lock in the direction early. 3) Once approved, I track the final lead vocals, doubles, harmonies, and ad-libs, delivering both 100% dry WAV stems and a tuned/processed reference mix.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I record in a professionally treated studio space geared for crisp, intimate, and punchy modern vocals. My chain runs through a high-end condenser microphone and clean preamps into Pro Tools and FL Studio, backed by industry-standard vocal processing suites (FabFilter, Waves, iZotope, Melodyne, and Auto-Tune).

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Vocally and melodically, I draw a lot of inspiration from artists like The Weeknd, Troye Sivan, Rauw Alejandro, and Dua Lipa, as well as powerhouse pop/dance producers like Max Martin, Fred again.., and Calvin Harris.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I mainly handle bilingual (Spanish/English) vocal recording, toplining, and songwriting for Pop, Dance/EDM, and Latin crossover tracks. Clients usually bring me an instrumental or a rough idea, and I deliver radio-ready lead vocals, stacked harmonies, and hooks that bring the record to life.
