Mixing and mastering for psychedelic rock and electronic records: the depth and saturation of old studio chains, with the clarity and level a modern release needs. I wrote, played, produced and mixed Laguna Seca’s O Tempo for Throttle Records, after years releasing techno on Stroboscopic Artefacts, Our Circula Sound and my own In Silent Series.
I’ve been making records for thirty years. Positive Centre was built from analogue machines, tape and effects processing. Laguna Seca chases a vintage recording sound from my studio in Portugal’s Douro Valley.
I also master for independent labels, including releases for Paraíso in Lisbon.
My method is old signal chains rebuilt in modern software. You get the colour and movement of tape-era records, with low end and level that hold up on streaming services and on a club system.
If your mix sounds right on your own speakers but small next to the records you love, that’s the job.
Mastering: send a 24-bit stereo WAV peaking around -6 dBFS, with no limiter on the master bus, plus a reference track if you have one.
Mixing: send consolidated stems or multitracks, your rough mix and a few notes. I ask my questions before I start, not after.
Monitoring: Adam A7X with a Sub8 in a treated room, checked on Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X.
Two revisions included. Most jobs back within five working days. Launch rate until 15th November 2026: mastering $30 a track.
