Lyricist & storyteller

I write original lyrics with vivid characters, emotional honesty and a dark sense of humour. From intimate love songs to pointed social observations exploring the contradictions of modern life, I’m open to writing across genres to help tell your story.

I’m Johnny Written and I write lyrics about what makes people tick. It's about what they want, what they remember, what they tell themselves, and the contradictions they live with. My songs range from love and loss to belonging, working life and social change, making room for tenderness, ambiguity and dark humour.

My journalism career has included interviews with Donald Trump, Nigel Farage and prominent Russian figures including Umar Dzhabrailov and Boris Nemtsov. That reporting experience informs my lyrics about Russia, the war in Ukraine, power and belonging.

I’m interested in collaborating with artists and composers across musical genres. I can develop original lyrics from your idea or brief, and I have a catalogue of existing lyrics available for artists to consider setting to music.

My focus is the words: character, perspective, storytelling and emotional connection. Whether you have a subject in mind or are looking for a starting point, tell me about your project and what you want the song to express.

All lyrics are written entirely by me. My portfolio demos use Suno-generated music and vocals to illustrate possible musical settings. I offer lyric writing.

Since joining Suno on June 1, 2026, I’ve built an audience of 2,300 followers, with nearly 60,000 plays across songs featuring my original lyrics.
