Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started getting serious about music production and recording when I was a teenager, and I’ve been working professionally in studios for over 10 years. I studied audio production at The Recording Conservatory of Austin and spent years developing my skills across recording, production, vocal production, editing, mixing, and mastering. Over time, I’ve worked on my own music as well as helping other artists develop their songs from early ideas into finished records. My career has really grown by doing the work, constantly learning, and finding new ways to make records better. Today, I’m able to bring that experience across the entire process, from the first demo all the way to the final master.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: My style is emotional, atmospheric, and very focused on making a song feel like something rather than just sound good. I love creating a strong sense of space and texture while still keeping the songwriting and vocals at the center. I’m drawn to warm, nostalgic sounds, interesting vocal production, cinematic moments, and details that give a record its own identity. At the same time, I don’t want to force every song into the same aesthetic. My style is really about finding what makes each artist and song special, then building around that.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: One of my biggest production tips is to stop trying to make everything sound bigger. Sometimes the best production decision is leaving space. If every instrument is competing for attention, nothing feels important. I like to figure out what the emotional centerpiece of the song is and build the production around it, then make everything else support that moment. A great record isn’t always about adding more. It’s about making the right things matter.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I work on a wide variety of music, but specialize in modern pop/indie pop.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is knowing how to take an idea and figure out what it needs to become a great record. I have a strong ear for production, vocals, arrangement, and mixing, so I can look at a song from the big picture all the way down to the smallest details. After more than 10 years of professional studio experience, I’ve learned that sometimes the best thing you can do is add something, and sometimes it’s knowing what to take away. I think that ability to hear the potential in a song and bring it out is one of my biggest strengths.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring perspective, creativity, and a strong attention to detail. I’m always thinking about how I can make a song feel bigger, more emotional, and more memorable without losing what made the original idea special. Whether that means finding the right production direction, bringing out a stronger vocal performance, creating a unique sound, or making the mix hit harder, I’m always looking for those little things that can take a song from good to something the artist genuinely loves.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My process usually starts with understanding the artist and what they want the song to become. I’ll listen to whatever they have, whether that’s a voice memo, rough demo, or finished production, and figure out what’s working and what could make the song stronger. From there, I build out or refine the production, work through vocals and editing, and then move into mixing and mastering when needed. I like to keep the artist involved throughout the process so we’re always moving toward their vision. My goal is for them to hear the finished record and feel like it’s exactly what they wanted the song to be, just better than they imagined.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My studio is built around a hybrid in the box setup that gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the production process. I work primarily in Ableton Live and Pro Tools, with a carefully selected collection of plugins and processing tools for production, vocal work, mixing, and mastering. My main vocal microphone is a Shure SM7B, and I have a monitoring setup that allows me to make detailed decisions while still keeping the music feeling natural and exciting. I’ve spent over 10 years working professionally in studios, so my setup is really designed around one thing: having the tools and environment I need to turn an idea into a great sounding record.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I’m inspired by a lot of different artists and producers, especially people who have a really distinct sonic identity. Artists like The 1975, Lorde, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey have all influenced the way I think about songwriting, production, atmosphere, and emotion. On the production side, I really admire people like Jack Antonoff, Finneas, Rick Rubin, and Nigel Godrich. What inspires me most is hearing someone take a simple idea and turn it into something that feels completely its own. That’s something I try to bring into my own work too.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: The most common work I do for clients is taking a song from an early idea or rough demo and turning it into a finished, release ready record. This often includes music production, vocal production, editing, mixing, and mastering, depending on what the artist needs. I work with everything from voice memos and rough demos to fully produced songs that need the right finishing touches. My goal is always to understand what the artist is trying to create, then use my experience and production skills to bring that idea to life and make the song sound as strong as it can.
