I’m Maher Cissoko, a Senegalese kora player, singer and percussionist based in Sweden. I grew up in a griot family in Casamance, where the kora is a living musical tradition. My playing is rooted in that heritage and shaped by years of making music across genres and borders.
I’ve released the solo albums Kora Fo, Cissoko Heritage and Kora World. With Sousou & Maher Cissoko, I’ve toured in more than 30 countries, bringing kora, vocals and rhythm into music influenced by folk, soul, reggae and jazz.
