I’m a producer, songwriter, arranger and orchestrator with more than 30 years of experience helping artists discover what makes them unique and bringing that to life on a record. As a songwriter, I’ve received six BMI Awards, and my work spans pop, country, R&B, jazz, gospel, bluegrass and cabaret, from intimate recordings to full orchestral sessions.
I’m a song guy first. I listen—to the artist, to the song, and to what the record is trying to become. Sometimes that means a full orchestra and sometimes it means getting everything out of the way and letting the song speak for itself. My job isn’t to make every artist sound like me. It’s to help them discover something in themselves they may not have known was there.
My work includes production, songwriting, arranging, orchestration, vocal production, song selection and artist development. I can take a project from the earliest conversations through final recording, or step in for one specific part of the process.
After all these years, I still love discovering a great song and hearing that moment when a record suddenly comes to life. That’s why I do this. I make the ordinary beautiful.
