Sang and co-wrote song 'When I Wake' on Whiplash (Deluxe Movie Soundtrack). I've got a vintage, cool 1920's jazz sound that can double as a soulful EDM vocal on your track. Versatile and willing to work and proficient in Logic Pro. Let's make some magic.
Hello! My name is Jullanar Gamboa and I'm a vocalist living in Los Angeles for the past 7 years. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a BA in Vocal Performance. Since having graduated, I've sang at various venues in Los Angeles and have worked as a session singer on various projects.
My biggest accomplishment having been singing and co-writing lyrics on the Whiplash (Deluxe Movie Soundtrack) 'When I Wake (Reprise)'. I've also collaborated with a few students from the USC Thornton School of Music and have sung on a few projects. I have the ability to stack harmonies on the spot and provide BGV's as I've done for a client I'm currently working with.
I'm proficient in Logic Pro X and can record raw vocals for your next track. Would love the opportunity to sing on your next track. Let's work!

Interview with Jullanar Gamboa
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for at least 4 years now. Started out as a local performer for various venues and recently found a love for session work. Love being out of sight but still being able to contribute my voice to projects.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on jazz and indie pop tracks. I've also worked on a few soundtrack tracks for friends of mine.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say vocal stacking/creating harmonies in a short window of time is something that I do well and have done often. Turn around time is often something I pride myself as I can track vocals to clients within a few hours.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring emotional depth to the songs that I sing.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I typically listen to the track 2-3 times and learn the melody. Then I'll go ahead and input the instrumental track into my logic session. Create an audio track for my vocals and do about 5-6 vocal takes. I'll go ahead and mix the vocals, save the file and send over to my client.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is in my room. I have a Mac Air computer and use an SM7B to record vocals with the scarlett solo interface. I record using Logic Pro for all takes.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I track vocals and/or harmonies on the spot. I sing top liners for clients and record rough demo recordings for tracks using Logic Pro.
