Characterful, song-focused live drums recorded in my UK home studio—from restrained, vintage-inspired grooves to energetic, theatrical performances. I’ll follow your direction or develop an original drum part that gives your song exactly what it needs.

I’m a UK-based drummer with nearly 30 years of live and recording experience.

My approach is musical and responsive: I listen closely to the vocal, arrangement and emotional shape of a track, then build a part that supports them. I’m equally comfortable locking into a simple pocket, creating distinctive fills and textures, following a detailed demo or developing a drum arrangement from scratch.

My influences range from the economy and feel of Ringo Starr and Levon Helm, through the energy of Keith Moon and Dave Grohl, to the more exploratory, dynamic approach of Radiohead and The Smile.

I’ve toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and the United States, working across rock, indie, Americana, folk, blues and theatrical live music.

I can work from a drumless mix, demo, programmed guide or reference track. Before recording, we’ll agree the direction, arrangement and any particular sounds or moments you need.

I’ve also published more than 50 drum performances on YouTube, covering artists ranging from The Beatles, Bob Dylan and David Bowie to Radiohead, Talking Heads, The Who and The Smashing Pumpkins. Together, they demonstrate the breadth of styles I can interpret and record.
