Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: One project I'm especially proud of is my original music as PEARL LYNN. I've worked closely with my producer to develop my songs from the initial vocal ideas through the finished recordings, performing the lead vocals, and creating vocal layers and harmonies. Being involved throughout the process has taught me how much the details of a vocal performance can shape the emotion and identity of a song.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I'm currently working on my own original music as an independent artist while expanding into session vocal work for other artists and producers. I'm continually recording, performing, and developing my sound while taking on opportunities to collaborate.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital, especially for the flexibility it gives me when recording and collaborating remotely. It makes it easy to record multiple takes, record harmonies and background vocals, keep them organized, and send high-quality files back and forth efficiently.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I'll treat your song with the same attention and cafe I give my own music. I'll communicate clearly, listen to your vision, and put genuine effort into delivering vocals that feel right for the song.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I love getting to bring someone's song or project to life through vocals. Music can communicate things that are difficult to to put into words, so finding the right emotion, tone, and delivery for a song is my favorite part of the process.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: A common question is whether or not i can match a specific vocal style of reference,. My answer is yes. I am comfortable adapting my tone, dynamics, and delivery to fit the song while still bringing something unique to the performance.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That singing a song is just about hitting the right notes. A great vocal is also about emotion, phrasing, dynamics, tone, and knowing when to pull back or give more. two technically correct performances can make the same song feel completely different.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I like to ask about the overall vision and emotion of the song, the vocal style they're looking for, and whether they have any reference tracks. I also ask what they need delivered, such as lead vocals, harmonies, background vocals, or ad-libs, as well as their preferred deadline.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Have a clear idea of the feeling you want the vocals to bring to your song, even if you don't know exactly how you want them performed yet. References are always helpful, and good communication makes it much easier for me to create a vocal that fits your vison.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My microphone, laptop, headphones, computer mouse, phone. Give me those and I could still find a way to make and listen to music.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I began training in classical voice in 2018 and have continued developing my voice through solo performance, ensemble work, live performances, and my own original music. Over the years, I've performed in choirs, vocal ensembles, live venues, recording projects, which has helped me become comfortable with both technical vocal work and more expressive contemporary styles. i focus too on pop and alternative music while bringing that training into the studio work i do for other artists and producers.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Expressive, versatile, and emotionally driven. My vocals can range from soft an intimate to powerful and theatrical, and I especially enjoy using harmonies and different vocal textures to create atmosphere and bring out the emotion of a song.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Lady gaga, I admire of versatile and expressive she is as a vocalist and how committed she is to the emotion and character of every song. Id love to work on something that combines strong storytelling with both theatrical vocals.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Don't underestimate vocal layering. Well placed doubles, harmonies, and background vocals can completely change the energy of a section and make a chorus feel much bigger without overcrowding the lead vocal.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Pop, alternative pop, indie pop, electropop, pop rock, singer-songwriter music. I enjoy working on songs that are emotional, atmospheric, theatrical, deep or a little unconventional.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is conveying emotion through my voice. I'm especially strong at creating expressive lead vocals and harmonies that add depth while still supporting the main melody.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring an expressive an emotionally driven vocal style, along with the ability to adapt my delivery to the mood of a song. I pay close attention to dynamic, phrasing, tone and harmonies so the vocals add to the overall feeling of the track rather than simply sitting on top of it.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I start by listening closely to the song and any references provides so i understand the artists vision. From there, I learn the material, record the lead vocal, and build any requested harmonies or background vocals. I focus on capturing the emption of the song while keeping the performance clean and consistent.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I record from home setup using a FIFINE microphone and my computer. My setup allows me to record and deliver clean lead vocals, harmonies, and background vocal stems remotely.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I'm inspired by artists who have strong vocal identity and aren't afraid to experiment, including Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks, Adele, Ariana Grande. I especially admire artists who use their voice not just technically but as part of the storytelling and overall world of a song.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I provide lead vocals, harmonies, and background vocals for artists and producers, with a focus on expressive performances that fit the emotion and style of each song. I'm especially comfortable with pop, alternative, pop rock, and indie. I can work from a reference/demo while still bringing my own vocal character to the track.
