Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: Joe Budden's All Love Lost. It was the first project where the music I contributed helped establish the sonic direction of the album. Knowing my production influenced the overall feel of the record made it a defining moment in my career.

A: Yes

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: Being creative and helping my clients create something they're genuinely proud of.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That great music happens by accident. That we can do it for free. And that we don't care about what we put out into the world as long as we get paid.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: What kind of music inspires you? What emotion do you want people to feel when they hear this? Excluding things we can't control, what would make you feel like we created our best work?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Hire someone who's genuinely invested in what you're trying to create. My job isn't just to make a great beat it's to use my experience to help bring your vision to life.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I've been producing for nearly 20 years. I actually started as a rapper before realizing I was preferred producing. After working with independent artists, I landed my first placement with Joe Budden, which eventually led to being mentored by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Since then I've had opportunities to contribute to projects involving artists like Rick Ross, Future, Wale, Gucci Mane, & a lot more. In recent years I've expanded into creating sample libraries for companies like Image-Line, Native Instruments, Producer Grind, and Loopmasters while also building my own boutique sample library, The Hill Sounds.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Kendrick Lamar. I admire how every project feels like a cultural moment without compromising who he is as an artist. That's something I deeply respect.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Get every creative idea out first. Edit later. It's much easier to refine great ideas than it is to create inspiration from an empty session.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Hip-hop has been the foundation of my career, but I've also produced R&B, pop, EDM, and other genres whenever the music called for it.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I pride myself on capturing the emotion a song is meant to have and making it feel authentic to the artist and the style we're creating.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: Just Blaze, Quincy Jones, Jon Bellion, Prince, Michael Jackson, JAY-Z etc. Each for different reasons ranging from musicality and storytelling to innovation and cultural impact.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Full music production from concept to completion, including composition, arrangement, sound selection, and helping artists develop a record that feels true to their vision.
