I’m Gideon Preiss - an ARIA Award-nominated artist, producer, mixer, composer and pianist based in Melbourne, Australia. With over 15 years of experience creating, recording and mixing music, I bring the perspective of both a musician and an engineer to every project.
As a founding member of the internationally acclaimed band Husky, whose debut album Forever So received an ARIA Award nomination and was released through Sub Pop Records, I have spent years crafting records from the inside out - from songwriting and arrangement through to production, recording and final mix.
I specialise in organic, emotionally powerful music production and mixing for indie, pop, folk, jazz, alternative and cinematic artists. My approach is centred on capturing the character of the artist while delivering recordings that feel alive, detailed and timeless. Whether you need a mix that brings clarity and depth to your production, additional arrangement and instrumentation, piano and keyboard recordings, or guidance developing a song from demo to finished release, I bring a deep musical understanding alongside technical expertise.
I combine a strong ear for emotion, harmony and storytelling with years of experience working across independent releases, film, television and contemporary music. I love collaborate, explore new sounds and riff on ideas.
