Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have worked on Young Scooters whole "80's Baby" mixtape. Recorded in the front room of his loft. Its a big accomplishment because it became his best selling mixtape. RIP to Young Scooter.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Im working on artist development and industry mixers as well as on tour with some big artists and promoting the indie artists.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I use both. Analog for mixing. Digital for production.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to deliver quality and provision in a professional and timely manner.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Everything! I love music with every being of my soul.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The question I seem to get the most is how much do I charge.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception is that its easy to be sucessful in this business.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What message or feeling are you looking to put out from the production.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Dont be shy. If i cant help you i can find someone who can.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Water filter, Shovel, Rifle, Dog and 25 pounds of pemican.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been a producer for 10 years. Landing multiple placements with a lot of major and up and coming artists. I also am a software engineer so computers are my thing..
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is futuristic with a splash of vintage. My sounds vary so there are no limitations. I love to use things people havent tried or feel like wouldnt work.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Katy Perry because i love her voice and I feel as if her voice compliments my style of composition.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Dont delete anything. What might not make sense today, could save the day tomorrow.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on hip-hop and r&b. A little trap and im currently working on jingles and scoring.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: "Small detail" is one of my strongest skills. I have the ability to hear inconsistencies and also fix them.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring creativity, clarity and professional expertise to any production.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process is a quiet room with a lot of snacks.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio as well as access to high end studios all over the country.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by Kanye West
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly make compositions and work on mixing and mastering tracks.
