Interview with Chopsta Beats

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: I would describe my style as a genuine connection with the universe. My music is rooted in authenticity, emotion, and human connection, blending organic instrumentation with modern production to create immersive, soulful soundscapes. I aim to make music that resonates deeply, tells a story, and evokes a sense of connection beyond words.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I'd love to work with FKJ because of his unique ability

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to make music that is not only heard but deeply felt. Focus on emotion before perfection. A song that genuinely connects with listeners will always have a greater impact than one that is technically flawless but lacks feeling. Let every arrangement, performance, and production choice serve the emotion and story of the music.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: My experience includes Afro Jazz, Afro House, Amapiano, soul, gospel, and other genres that benefit from live instrumentation.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: My strongest skill is arranging songs and turning them into a musical journey. I focus on creating dynamic arrangements that build naturally, keeping listeners engaged from beginning to end. Through thoughtful transitions, instrumentation, and emotional progression, I make sure every section serves the story of the song and delivers a memorable listening experience.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I bring life, emotion, and authenticity to every song I work on. My goal is to create music that not only sounds great but also connects with listeners on a deeper level. By blending thoughtful arrangements, live instrumentation, and expressive production, I help transform ideas into songs that feel genuine, memorable, and emotionally impactful.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: My process starts with understanding the client's vision, musical direction, and goals. Whenever possible, I invite skilled instrumentalists to every studio session to bring live performance and authentic musicality into the production. We collaborate on arrangements, record live instruments and vocals, and refine every element until it captures the desired sound. After recording, I complete the editing, mixing, and mastering, delivering a polished, release-ready track that reflects the client's vision.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I work from a well-equipped home studio designed for professional music production, recording, mixing, and mastering. My setup includes a pair of 8-inch studio monitors for accurate monitoring and an audio interface that enables high-quality recording of live instruments and vocals. This environment allows me to produce clean, detailed, and release-ready audio while maintaining an efficient workflow for every project.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: The musicians and producers who inspire me most are Yussef Dayes, FKJ, and Alfa Mist. I admire Yussef Dayes' expressive drumming and rhythmic creativity, FKJ's ability to blend live instrumentation with modern production, and Alfa Mist's rich harmonies and jazz-influenced compositions. Their approach to creating authentic, emotionally engaging music inspires me to combine organic instruments, thoughtful arrangements, and contemporary production techniques in my own work.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I primarily produce, arrange, mix, and master music for artists, brands and content creators. My work focuses on delivering industry quality productions, custom instrumentals, vocal mixing and polished masters tailored to each client's artistic vision.
