Interview with I'm Orange Blue
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most common questions & answers: 1. "Do you write songs in other languages besides English?" Absolutely — I create original, authentic work in English, Spanish, German, and Chinese, keeping the full emotion and meaning intact in every one. 2. "How long does it take to get a finished song?" My standard turnaround is 3–5 days, but I often finish much faster — getting your track to you sooner is always my priority! 4. "Is the work fully original, or do you use samples?" Every lyric, melody, and idea is 100% my own original creation. I use modern tools only as instruments to bring my vision to life — no copied work or samples.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mostly create warm, heartfelt styles: 70s-inspired soul, funk, pop, and storytelling ballads. I also specialize in culturally authentic Latin tracks, personal emotional pieces, and original songs written specifically for bands — plus custom works perfect for weddings, gifts, and sync licensing.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m especially proud of my original track Saffron Vinyl — a warm, 70s-inspired song celebrating the timeless magic of physical music: browsing record shops, listening in the booth, taking an album home, and sharing those special sounds with friends. As the songwriter, I wrote every lyric, crafted the full melody, and shaped its nostalgic, soulful feel entirely on my own. This piece was also my entry for the Hit or Miss weekly songwriting competition — where it took 1st place on the leaderboard! It’s been wonderful to see how deeply people connect with that feeling of real, lasting joy found in music you can hold.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now I’m working on a warm, 70s-inspired original Spanish song — plus I’m also developing other tracks across styles and languages, from heartfelt ballads to upbeat pieces, and keeping my skills sharp with regular writing challenges.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m still building my own network on the platform, so I don’t have personal connections to recommend right now — but I’m fully focused on delivering exactly what you need myself, and I’ll always be honest if I think another specialist is a better fit for your specific project!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital — it gives me the freedom to craft any sound, style or mood exactly as imagined, work efficiently, and deliver high-quality results anywhere in the world. Even so, I always aim for that warm, timeless feel that classic analog is loved for — combining the best of both worlds.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to create something that feels truly yours — original, thoughtful, and exactly right for what you need. I’ll listen closely, keep you updated every step, deliver within our agreed timeline, and make sure you’re completely happy with the final result.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love taking raw ideas, stories, and any kind of mood — warm, joyful, nostalgic, playful, heartfelt — and shaping them into full songs that capture exactly what you want to say. And there’s nothing better than seeing people connect with and enjoy those songs, knowing they’ve found something that resonates with them too.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I just “write words” — or that using modern creation tools means the work isn’t fully original. Every melody, every lyric, every feeling and story comes entirely from my own ideas, vision, and direction. The tools I use are just instruments to bring my creativity to life — no different from any other musician using software or gear to make their music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What is the story, memory, or feeling you want this song to share? - Who is this song for, and when or where will it be heard? - What style, mood, or era of music do you love most? - Are there specific words, names, or moments you’d like included? - Do you have a preferred length, or any special requests for the final track?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as open as you can about how you want the song to feel, not just what it should sound like. Share the story, the memory, or the emotion you want people to experience — that’s what makes a song truly special. And don’t worry about being “too specific” — the more you tell me, the closer we get to making something that feels exactly like yours.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. A good notebook and pen — to write every lyric, melody idea, and story 2. A solar-powered portable creation tool — to turn my ideas into full songs 3. Comfortable headphones — to hear every detail and feel the emotion clearly 4. A trusted voice recorder — to capture melodies and thoughts the moment they come 5. One favorite classic vinyl record — for inspiration and warm vibes whenever I need it
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been writing and creating original songs for over 5 years — refining my craft and developing my ability to work across multiple languages. I regularly take part in weekly songwriting challenges like Hit or Miss, because they keep me sharp, push me to write fast and creatively to new themes, and help me grow all the time — and I recently earned #1 place on their weekly leaderboard. I now focus full-time on creating original work for artists, bands, and custom projects.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is warm, timeless, and deeply heartfelt — rooted in 70s soul, gentle funk, soft pop, and rich storytelling. I write everything from tender, moving ballads to upbeat, joyful fun songs — always focused on strong melody, genuine emotion, and a natural, easy feel.y
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists who make music that feels like home — like Uruguayan legends Jaime Roos or Rubén Rada, or warm soul storytellers such as Bill Withers. They all craft songs that feel honest, inclusive, and deeply connected to people and place — exactly the kind of heart I bring to my own work, and I’d love to blend that with their timeless sound.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always let the feeling lead the sound first — don’t overcrowd your track with too many layers. The best music leaves space for the emotion and melody to breathe, so listeners connect with the heart of the song before anything else.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skills are crafting original, emotionally resonant lyrics and melodies, and writing authentic, culturally thoughtful songs in English, Spanish, German, and Chinese. I also excel at translating feeling and meaning across languages without losing the original heart of a piece, creating warm, timeless styles that work perfectly for personal gifts, sync use, or heartfelt storytelling.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring genuine heart, emotional depth, and clear, memorable storytelling to every song I create. I also bring the rare ability to craft authentic lyrics and melodies in English, Spanish, German, and Chinese, while keeping the full feeling and cultural tone intact. Whether it’s warm nostalgia, quiet joy, or deep connection, I make sure every track feels personal, honest, and truly yours.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I listen closely to your vision — the story, mood, and feeling you want to share. I draft original lyrics and melody, share a preview for your feedback, and refine everything until it matches exactly what you imagine. Once you’re fully happy, I deliver the final track, and can transfer all full rights to you if requested. I work efficiently and keep communication clear and friendly at every step.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with professional composition tools, high-quality sound libraries, and industry-standard production software to create warm, polished tracks. I treat all tools simply as instruments — every melody, lyric, and creative choice comes entirely from my own original ideas, vision, and direction.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists who make music that feels like home — warm, honest, and full of soul. I love the timeless groove of 70s soul & funk, gentle storytelling styles, and the heartfelt, community-focused sound of Uruguayan and Latin American creators. I also admire artists who blend tradition with modern tools to craft something truly personal and meaningful.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I write original, heartfelt custom songs and lyrics in English, Spanish, German, and Chinese. My work includes personalized wedding & anniversary tracks, heartfelt gift songs, warm sync-ready pieces, and culturally authentic Latin/Uruguayan-inspired music. I also adapt and rewrite lyrics across languages while keeping the full emotion and meaning intact.
