Takefuji Drums

Math Rock / Post-Rock Drummer

Takefuji Drums on SoundBetter

Mix-ready live drums for math rock, post-rock and progressive music. Odd meters, ghost notes, explosive dynamics — tracked in my own Tokyo studio.

I'm Takefuji, a Tokyo-based drummer specializing in math rock, post-rock, progressive rock, post-hardcore and rhythmically complex music.
My strength is drum parts that feel intricate without losing the song's emotional flow — odd meters, polymetric ideas, ghost notes, dynamic builds and explosive transitions that still serve the track.
I can work from a finished drum demo or MIDI reference, a rough arrangement, or a track with no drums at all. I'll either perform your existing part faithfully or write a complete arrangement from scratch.
What you get: multitrack stems (kick in/out, snare, toms, hi-hat, ride, overheads), 32-bit float / 48kHz WAV, phase-aligned with a rough balance, ready to drop into your session. Turnaround is typically two weeks. One major direction change included, small adjustments unlimited. Everything is tracked in my private, acoustically treated drum room in Tokyo.
Need programmed drums only? I deliver MIDI plus rendered stems, arranged and humanized to the same standard.
I spent seven years as the drummer of post-hardcore band Fall of Tears. My first solo album, chronorhythm, was composed outward from the drums — post-rock, math rock, post-hardcore and jazz.
The goal isn't technical difficulty. It's giving your song a stronger identity.
Send me your track and references — I'll come back with the approach I'd take before you commit to anything.
