Interview with Dorian Willz
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Come with your ideas and examples and I'd be more than happy to see your project is exactly what you want. Often its all about communication. lets discuss and we'll get it done.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I would take my laptop, My ableton push 3, my AKG mic, Audio Technica headphones and my mini fridge lol keeping the drinks and good vibes going.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started music after Playing football in university in Canada. I was always doing some gigs on the side but went fully in once my athletic career was done. I've been touring as a live musician and vocalist in a band doing about 70-85 shows a year with the Boogie Wonderband. I work with different artist locally for live and studio gigs in between performing.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Smooth and Melodic. I love melody and write and perform songs to really bring that important element out of every song
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Lucky Daye as an artist but as a songwriter I'd love to one day work with James Fauntleroy
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Finish all your projects as much as possible, even when you don't think they're great. Sometimes the best lessons and skill building are learned that way. Every Rep keeps you sharp and ready for your next Hit.

A: R&B, Soul, primarily followed by Some funk, disco and House music.

Im currently using an AKG c414 into my 500 series SSL six channel followed by my most recent analog pickup in the carnaby EQ. All brought together in my Daw by my favorite interface to date the Neumann MT 48. I'm loving the sound im getting out this chain at the moment.
