I record solo artists with professional equipment in untreated spaces - at their place or at my stone house in Crete.

After spending decades competing with the machines, and using tons of error-eliminating tools in order to get a formal perfection, we’re finally realizing that we’ve made ourselves unemotional and cold. In fact, machines now know better than we do how to make pointless music.

Over the past few years, an increasing number of significant albums have been made by artists who went back to basics, retreating for a few days to an untreated space with a sound engineer and quality equipment to record authentic music. You listen to those records; you are in that very room because the artist wanted to let you in.
It only takes two people to do this—each doing their own job.

I’ve been recording artists in untreated spaces for years now. I love intimate recordings, and I think it’s true that one does better at things one truly loves to do.
I am a songwriter myself. I know what a sound engineer is for an artist: the person to whom you entrust the thing you care about most—your music.
That’s why I believe that, at the end of the sessions, you must have a finished record in hand. Something you can share with others that very night, and say, “This is where I am now. This is what we did”.
