Interview with KILIAM
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I'm especially proud of is "Don't Let Me Sleep", a collaboration with Joe Alderson that was featured on the 4th edition of the "For The Love of Progressive" EP series and released via Revealed Radar. My role was music production, mixing and mastering. I'm proud of this project because it allowed me to showcase a darker, more aggressive and festival-oriented side of Progressive House while refining my production, mixing and mastering skills. Being featured on a respected label platform also helped introduce the track to a wider audience.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most is being able to turn ideas and emotions into something people can connect with. Music has been a huge part of my life since childhood, and being able to help other artists bring their vision to life is incredibly rewarding. Every project is unique, which keeps the creative process exciting and inspiring.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Clear communication is key. The more information, references and ideas you can provide, the better the final result will be. Don't be afraid to share your vision, even if it's not fully developed yet. My goal is to create music that truly represents your identity as an artist while making the entire process enjoyable and collaborative.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I primarily specialize in Progressive House and EDM productions. However, I'm also open to working on other genres such as Afro House, Deep House, Trap and Drill beats. I enjoy exploring different styles while always focusing on creating high-quality, emotional and impactful music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Every project starts with understanding the client's vision, references and goals. From there, I build the foundation of the track, including melodies, chords, arrangement and sound design. Throughout the process, I keep communication open and provide updates to make sure we're heading in the right direction. The final step is mixing and mastering to achieve a polished, professional and release-ready result.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've always been inspired by artists such as Martin Garrix, DubVision, Matisse & Sadko and Manse. Their ability to combine emotion, energy and storytelling through music has heavily influenced my own style. I also enjoy exploring other genres and constantly learning from producers across the EDM scene.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly work on custom EDM productions, with a strong focus on Progressive House. I help artists turn their ideas into fully produced, radio-ready tracks, whether they need a complete production from scratch, ghost production, mixing, mastering or additional production work.
