Endorse Chris SweetI have been writing, performing and recording for many years. As artists we are generally wired to never be satisfied... not with Chris. He is a true professional in every facet.
He possesses the rare combination of skill, artistry and work ethic that you don’t always find, especially in this age of working long distance and remotely... I’m never disappointed and always left feeling like the song is as good as it can be.I have been writing, performing and recording for many years. Interview with Chris Sweet
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Contact me! Lets chat and see if I'm a good fit for your project. I'm committed to making sure my clients are satisfied and that I don't waste their time or money.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't hope to fix it in the mix. Record the best possible thing you can in the best possible way.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My own taste. I'm a talented mix engineer but its my taste and creative decisions that set me apart.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Typically my mixes have a certain clarity and power that emphasizes the emotional impact of the drums and vocals.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I tend to mix fast, but am very hands on in the production process if i'm hired to produce as well.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix completely in the box, but love to record through various colorful preamps and compressors to get character and weight in the raw tracks.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my favorite artists are Ryan Adams, the Strokes, the Beatles, and Sigur Ros. On the professional side Chris Lord Alge and Andrew Scheps are my biggest influences.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically pop oriented stuff. And by pop I mean music with a strong vocal, strong beat, and strong melody/hook. I've worked in sub genres stretching into electronic music, pop-rock, alt-pop, and americana.
