Interview with Roger Bozek Music
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I love the digital age of music. Everything is moving there anyway. There is so much that can be done with digital music and it will continue to get better.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating mixes and helping people get their music to where they want it.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Usually questions about discounts. I say they have to look at the prices listed. I have a good rate compared to most audio engineers, anyway.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of project do you want to work on and how far do you want to take it?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been working on mixes for seven years and have been song arranging since my early twenties. I have been in bands since I was 13.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Pop Rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Song arranging
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring out what essentially an artist wants out of a song. To feel the emotion and get the sonic clarity they desire.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Pro Tools and use Waves Audio plugins for my mixes. All my mixes are done in-the-box.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really love Butch Vig's work as well as Chris Corner's work recently.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common work I do for my clients is mixing and song arranging work.
