Hi! I’m FEMMS, a NYC-based producer, mixer, songwriter, and DJ. I help artists transform ideas into professional records through production, vocal editing, arrangement, and mixing. My focus is creating modern, emotional, and unique music that stands out while staying true to your artistic vision.
Hi, I’m FEMMS, a Venezuelan music producer, songwriter, mixer, and DJ based in New York City.
I specialize in helping artists turn ideas, demos, and rough recordings into polished records that feel authentic, emotional, and professionally produced. My work focuses on indie pop, alternative, electronic, synth-pop, dance, and Latin music, blending modern production techniques with strong songwriting and creative sound design.
As an artist myself, I understand that every song has a unique identity. My goal is not to force a sound onto your music, but to help bring your vision to life while elevating its impact, clarity, and emotional connection.
Services include music production, mixing, vocal editing, arrangement, songwriting support, and creative consultation. Whether you’re starting from a voice memo, a demo, or a nearly finished track, I can help take it to the next level.
My influences range from Tame Impala, Rosalía, MGMT, and Daft Punk to contemporary electronic and alternative pop music. I bring both technical precision and artistic perspective to every project.
Let’s create something memorable together.

Interview with FEMMS
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m especially proud of is my artist project, FEMMS, and the music I’ve released under that name. In particular, working on my album A+D25MPH has been incredibly meaningful because it tells the story of my journey in New York City through music, production, and visual storytelling. My role included songwriting, music production, arrangement, and creative direction. I’m proud of this project because it challenged me to grow both technically and artistically while creating something deeply personal and authentic.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I’m working on new music for my artist project, FEMMS. I’m developing and releasing original material while continuing to grow as a producer, songwriter, and DJ. I’m also collaborating with other artists and exploring new ways to blend alternative, electronic, and Latin influences in my work.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: There are many talented professionals on SoundBetter, and the right choice really depends on the artist’s goals, style, and needs. If I feel someone else is a better fit for a project than I am, I’m always happy to point a client in the right direction. The most important thing is finding the best creative match.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I don’t have a strong preference for analog or digital. What matters most to me is whether something sounds and feels right for the song. Great music can be made with either approach—the tools are important, but the emotion and the result matter more.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to treat every song with the same care and attention I give my own music. I will listen, communicate openly, and do my best to bring your vision to life while delivering work that feels authentic, professional, and true to who you are as an artist.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I enjoy most is seeing the moment when an artist hears their song and realizes it sounds the way they imagined it in their head. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping transform an idea into a finished piece of music that feels real, authentic, and true to their vision.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: One of the most common questions I get is: “Can you work from a rough demo or voice memo?” Absolutely. Some of the best songs start as simple ideas. My job is to help develop those ideas into fully realized productions while preserving what made them special in the first place.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: One of the biggest misconceptions is that producers simply make beats or operate software. In reality, a producer helps shape the identity, emotion, and direction of a song. The technical side is important, but the creative vision is what makes music memorable.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: One of the first questions I ask is: “What have you been listening to lately?” I find that our current listening habits often reveal more than our favorite artists. They offer a glimpse into what is inspiring us subconsciously in the moment and help me better understand an artist’s creative direction and sonic preferences.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone whose work genuinely resonates with you, not just someone with the most gear or the longest resume. Clear communication, trust, and a shared creative vision are essential. The best results happen when both the artist and producer are excited about bringing the song to life together.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, an electric guitar, an audio interface, a MIDI controller, and a microphone. With those five pieces of gear, I could write, record, produce, and mix music from anywhere. Creativity matters more than having a huge studio.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My journey began in 2017 when I launched my artist project, FEMMS. Through writing and creating my own music, I developed a deep passion for music production and began learning production, recording, and mixing in 2019. Since then, I’ve continued refining my skills while producing my own releases, performing live, DJing, and collaborating with other artists. Being both an artist and producer has given me a unique perspective on how to bring creative ideas to life.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as emotional, cinematic, and genre-blending. I draw inspiration from indie pop, psychedelic music, electronic production, and Latin sounds to create records that feel immersive, modern, and deeply personal. I love combining atmosphere, movement, and storytelling through sound.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Rosalía and Peggy Gou. Rosalía inspires me through her ability to blend tradition with innovation and create a unique artistic universe. Peggy Gou inspires me through her global perspective, musical taste, and ability to connect people through dance music. Both artists push creative boundaries while maintaining a strong and authentic identity.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus on the emotion before the technical details. A great performance and a clear artistic vision will always have a bigger impact than expensive plugins or perfect processing. Build the feeling first, then enhance it with production and mixing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I primarily work on indie pop, alternative pop, electronic, synth-pop, and Latin music. Inspired by artists like Tame Impala, Rosalía, Daft Punk, and MGMT, I enjoy creating music that feels modern, emotional, and sonically distinctive.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is translating ideas and emotions into a clear sonic identity. I combine production, arrangement, and sound design to help artists create music that feels authentic, memorable, and uniquely their own.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring creativity, emotion, and a strong sense of identity to every song. I love building immersive sonic worlds through production, arrangement, and sound design while making sure the music remains authentic to the artist. My focus is creating records that connect with people and leave a lasting impression.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts with understanding the artist’s vision, influences, and goals for the song. From there, I develop the production, arrangement, and sound palette, followed by recording, editing, and mixing. Throughout the process, I maintain open communication to ensure the final result feels authentic and aligned with the artist’s creative direction.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work primarily with Logic Pro and Ableton Live from my studio in New York City. My setup includes professional audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, studio monitors, microphones, and a curated collection of plugins and virtual instruments. I focus on efficient workflows that allow me to deliver high-quality production, vocal editing, and mixing for artists worldwide.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who create immersive sonic worlds and push creative boundaries. Some of my biggest influences include Tame Impala, Daft Punk, Rosalía, MGMT, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Disclosure, and Zoé. I admire creators who combine innovation, emotion, and a strong artistic identity.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I help artists turn ideas, demos, and rough recordings into fully realized songs. My work includes music production, arrangement, vocal editing, sound design, and mixing. I focus on creating records that feel authentic, emotionally impactful, and ready for release while staying true to each artist’s vision.
