Interview with Luna Music Studio

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Drums, acoucstic guirar, piano, grill and beer. ☺️ What would you do with audio gear on the island without electricity. 😄
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I usualy cooperate with rock and metal bands, so it might be rock and metal. :)
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: If the music is good, any artist is worth cooperating with. I don't feel any genre borders where I don't want to be.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Different perspective. You can see your song just from the inside but I'm trying to look at it (or her it if you will) differently and propose some ideas that comes to my mind.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work mainly in-the-box so most of my setup consists of DAW, plugins like Waves, FabFilter, EWQL, NativeInstruments, Slate Digital and so on... I use Focusrite (Scarlett i1820 and OctoPre MK II) audio interfaces for recording up to 16 tracks simultaneously and this is fed by wide range of microphones.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm usualy cooperate with clients who want complete service during the production proces, so we have few meetings or chats before the recording sessions, I record, edit, mix, (produce in case client wants it) and master all the tracks we are working on. I usualy tell customers they should be mastering elsewhere but rarely they really do it...
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1) Consult what we are working on (some recordings fron the reharshal on your smartphone). 2) Give some guidelines before the recording process (to change your drumheads, to have your guitr serviced, ...) 3) Book recodring session and let all the music happen during them 3a) I try to give some points from someone who is not in the band and hears your song for a first time - it's up to you whether or not you implement those points 3b) When we are recording live drums, I like to have them edited to grid before recording anything else 4) I edit your songs and if needed we can arrange one more session to re-record anything we are not confident with. 5) I send you my first draft to check whether we are moving the right way 6) During mixing phase I usualy give you 3 revisions. After that we need to be consulting what to do afterwards as We both don't want to be moving in circles mixin one song... 7) After your agreement I master the song to reasonable level 8) If you need, I can provide you stems or raw tracks for you future use

A: Ska EP for talented band from Czech Republic

A: Digital for it's unlimited possibilities, cost-efficency and comfort Alanog for it's sound the digital domain is trying to imitate
