Interview with Kreation
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the projects I’m most proud of involved creating emotionally driven hard dance music designed for large festival environments. My role included production, sound design, arrangement, and mixing. I’m especially proud of how the music balanced emotional storytelling with high-energy impact.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now I’m focused on hard dance, EDM, cinematic electronic projects, artist development, and building new creative systems around music production and emotional composition.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m still exploring the SoundBetter community, but there are many talented engineers, vocalists, and writers here doing incredible work across multiple genres.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Mostly digital. Modern digital workflows allow incredible flexibility, precision, speed, and creative freedom while still achieving warmth and depth when used properly.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to deliver music that feels professional, emotionally impactful, and true to the artist’s vision while maintaining strong communication and attention to detail throughout the process.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love turning ideas and emotions into something tangible that people can feel and connect with. Helping artists bring their vision to life is the most rewarding part of the process.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question is whether I can match a specific style or reference. My answer is always yes — while still helping the track maintain its own identity and emotional uniqueness.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A lot of people think music production is only about making sounds loud or technically polished. In reality, great production is largely about storytelling, tension, pacing, emotion, and creating memorable moments.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask about musical references, emotional direction, intended audience, goals for the track, preferred workflow, and what they want listeners to feel when hearing the song.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who understands both the technical and emotional side of music. Communication, vision alignment, and consistency matter just as much as production quality.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop with Ableton Live, headphones, audio interface, MIDI keyboard, and a reliable power source. Honestly, with those alone you can create almost anything.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been producing music for over 17 years. Over time I developed from learning production independently into releasing music through labels like Dirty Workz and Basscon Records while performing at festivals including EDC Las Vegas and Ultra Miami.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is cinematic, emotional, energetic, and atmospheric. I combine powerful festival-ready production with melodic storytelling and detailed sound design to create music that feels immersive and impactful.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with artists who push emotional and cinematic storytelling within electronic music. I’m especially drawn to artists who care deeply about atmosphere, identity, and creating experiences rather than just tracks.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Focus on emotional clarity before technical complexity. A simple idea with strong emotional direction will usually outperform an overly complicated arrangement without purpose.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I primarily work on hardstyle, hard dance, EDM, hard techno, cinematic electronic music, and festival-focused productions. I also work on sound design, mixing, and artist development across electronic genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is combining emotional composition with technical production. I focus on creating music that not only sounds polished and powerful, but also connects emotionally and feels memorable long after listening.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I focus heavily on emotional storytelling, energy flow, impactful arrangements, and strong sonic identity. My goal is always to create music that feels memorable, powerful, and emotionally honest while still sounding professional and competitive.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually begin by understanding the artist’s vision, references, and emotional direction. From there I build the foundation through melody, harmony, rhythm, and sound design before moving into arrangement, mixing, and final polish. Communication and iteration are a major part of the process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work primarily in Ableton Live with a hybrid digital workflow focused on high-end electronic music production, sound design, and mixing. My setup is built around fast creative iteration, detailed sound shaping, and festival-ready mastering standards.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by producers who combine technical precision with strong emotional storytelling. Artists and bands like Angels & Airwaves, Black Veil Brides, Phuture Noize, Headhunterz, Wasted Penguinz, Deadmau5, and Hans Zimmer have all influenced the way I approach atmosphere, tension, melody, and cinematic energy in music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I primarily work on hard dance and EDM production, including ghost production, mixing, sound design, arrangement, and artist development. Most projects are focused on creating festival-ready music with strong emotional impact and professional-level energy.
