Hey there! I am Hugo, an experienced music producer and have over a decade of experience on the guitar, at a young age It was clear that my passion was for music creation, and after many years that passion has compounded into skills that I can provide for your next song!
My primary service I provide is my song-services, from my years producing on Ableton, I offer custom instrumentals, with unlimited revisions, mixing, mastering and finally vocal mixing for once you have recorded your song! This puts the weight of producing off of you the artist so that you can focus fully on the creative aspect of song-writing and singing/rapping. I primarily focus on Pop, RnB and Hip Hop but from my experience from over a decade of guitar, I have grown to love other genres such as Blues, Jazz and even Classical.
My secondary service is Session Guitar. The guitar is what sparked my interest and deep passion for music, since I've been playing almost everyday single day from a young age, I have total control over the neck, strings and my fingers, what ever you need on guitar, I can guarantee you I can provide this service for you.

Interview with Hugo Orton
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of my favourite projects was helping shape an artist’s sound from the ground up through production and vocal mixing.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Developing new production styles, improving mixes and working with new clients.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m always open to collaborating with talented creatives on the platform.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital — it gives flexibility, speed, and endless creative possibilities while still achieving professional quality.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Fast communication, high-quality work, unlimited revisions, and a final product we’re both proud of.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Bringing music into the world.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: “How many revisions do I get?” Unlimited — I want clients fully satisfied with the final result.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think good production is just about making things loud. The real work is in the details and emotion.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What sound are you aiming for? Do you have references? What emotion should the song give?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Choose someone whose sound genuinely connects with your vision, not just someone with credits.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphones, audio interface, electric guitar and a microphone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making music out of pure passion and gradually developed my sound through consistent work, learning, and collaborating with artists. I've been in music my whole life.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Modern RNB, atmospheric, hard-hitting, and emotionally driven. With the sensibility of old style recording.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: If that's what type of artist I love working with its artists who push boundaries creatively and aren’t afraid to experiment with new sounds. But If I could work with any artist that would be John Mayer.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always take one element out when you think you're finished, less that can do more is always better.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mainly hip-hop, Pop, R&B, melodic rap, and alternative sounds, but I’m open to experimenting with different genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creating clean, modern productions that still feel emotional and authentic.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring taste and attention to detail. I focus on making every track feel polished, unique and commercially competitive.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Usually, I listen to references my artists give me and write instrumentals around that until it fits their vision!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in my home studio, my DAW of choice is Ableton Live, I have a condenser mic at my disposal, audio interface, studio monitors, keyboards, guitars, ukuleles, ocarinas and more!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Musicians that have inspired me include John Mayer, TIm Henson, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West, due to their grit and determination.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Commonly, I produce instrumentals and mix tracks and vocals for artist, tailored to the artists vision. Secondly, I offer session guitar work.
