Even small projects deserve big sound! As a professional audio engineer pulling experience from live, broadcast and studio work i want to lend my abilities to small and niche metal and punk projects that wouldn't be able to afford big studios.
Hi!
I am Doménique and under the name Floating Monoliths i aim to provide my skills, knowledge and experience to small bands and projects who would otherwise not be able to afford a big studio but aim for a professional sound. Pulling from my work in broadcast, studio and live-sound i aim to produce and engineer a sound in metal, rock and punk i want to listen to myself. Together we can bring your project to the form it deserves and that you envision yourself.
In the moment i mainly work with ProTools and Reaper using a mixture of Universal Audio, iZotope and Native Instruments Plugins.
Recording sessions and Live-Sound for your concerts are possible in the area of Berlin.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.
Interview with Floating Monoliths
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: After you get in touch with me we discuss the scope and vision of your project. I appreciate some inspirations a broad overlook of the thematics of the record. Afterwards i will take the stems i was given and start with the mix. I will try a few different directions and once we chose the desired sound i will refine that with as much revisions as needed for your desired sound.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: A basic Home-Studio Setup in a well-treated acoustic environment while setting up a recording studio atm.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: While mainly focussing on the more lo-fi appeal of directions such as black metal, i think the light weight sound of post-punk bands such as Molchat Doma is quite interesting approach for a structured and focused production.
