Gowri Jayakumar is a music producer from Pune, India. She produces electronic music as Pulpy Shilpy. During COVID 19, she was selected as one of four artists in Miller-Zillmer Foundation’s three-month At Home Residency. Last year, she spent two months in Berlin as part of Border Movement Residency, and returned to perform at Magnetic Fields Festival and VH1 Supersonic festivals with her upcoming electronic album. She has won awards as a solo singer-songwriter as well as with her freak funk band Run Pussy Run. Gowri was a journalist for seven years (2006-2012) after which she studied music for ten months at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music. She began playing guitar at the age of 15, and that’s how it all began.
