Alternative Music Producer

NAJAR. on SoundBetter

I help artists turn raw ideas into melodic hip hop, alt pop and alt rock tracks.

Hi, this is NAJAR.
I produce alternative tracks that sit between alt pop, hip hop and modern rock.

Most of my work focuses on tension, dynamics and atmosphere, combining distorted textures and melodic hooks.

I work best with artists who already have an idea, demo, vocal or direction but need someone to shape the production into a complete record with identity.

Services include:

Full production
Ghost production
Instrumentals
Song arrangement

Interview with NAJAR.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is an instrumental track I’m currently finalizing for release on BeatStars. It’s still in the mixing stage, but it represents my current approach to production, focusing on arrangement, atmosphere, and emotional development. I’m also developing original music with my band, which allows me to explore songwriting and creative direction in a collaborative context.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment, I’m working on my own music project, producing and releasing instrumental tracks, and taking on client work. All of these activities are interconnected and help me continuously develop as a producer.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I'm still getting to know the SoundBetter community, so I don't feel qualified to recommend specific providers yet.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I appreciate both analog and digital workflows. I’m inspired by the depth and character of analog hardware, but I work primarily in a digital environment for flexibility and efficiency. What matters most to me is using the tools that best serve the creative direction of the song.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My promise is simple: honesty, communication, and commitment.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I’m passionate about the full music creation process, especially production and creative development. I’m continuously improving my mixing and mastering skills, but my main strength lies in building arrangements, shaping sound, and adapting ideas into complete musical directions. I work best in alternative, indie, and rock-oriented styles, where I have stronger references and creative intuition.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: One of the most common questions I receive is whether I can translate a reference or an idea into a finished result that matches what the client is imagining. My answer is that I’m very comfortable working from references, whether that’s a specific artist, a genre direction, or even an AI-generated idea. The key part of my process is understanding the intention behind the reference and adapting it into something that works in a real musical context, while preserving its core identity.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Many people think production is mostly about equipment and software. While tools matter, the most important part is understanding the song and making creative decisions that support the artist's vision.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask: What is the vision for the song? What artists or songs inspire this project? What emotions should the listener feel? What stage is the project currently in? What would make you consider this project a success? These answers help me understand both the technical and artistic goals.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Look beyond technical skills. Find someone who understands your goals, communicates clearly, and is genuinely interested in helping your project succeed. A good creative partnership often matters more than a long list of equipment or credentials.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: A laptop A guitar Audio interface Studio headphones A MIDI controller

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My musical background started in 2009 with classical guitar studies, which built my foundation in theory and harmony. Around 2014, I began producing music using DAWs and have been actively developing my skills ever since. For the past 3–4 years, I’ve also been working directly with clients on creative projects, focusing on communication, problem-solving, and delivering results aligned with their vision.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style blends melancholy, tension, aggression, and hope, focusing on emotionally strong but dynamic and contrast-driven music.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Mainly Paul Meany and TOP. Their willingness to experiment with different genres while maintaining a clear artistic identity is something I deeply admire.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: The song always needs a clear focus. The role of every element in the arrangement is to support and enhance that focus, never compete with it.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mainly work on alternative rock, pop, alternative hip hop, and genre-blending projects.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My strongest skill is adapting musical ideas across different harmonies, moods, and styles while preserving their emotional core and turning them into cohesive arrangements.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I'm always looking for ways to make a song feel unique while remaining true to the artist's vision.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I like to discuss influences, goals, references, and the emotional direction of the song before making creative decisions. From there, I develop ideas collaboratively, share progress regularly, and refine details based on feedback.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I'm a bedroom producer. My studio is set up in my room because that's the space I have available right now, and it's built around a practical, affordable workflow that lets me write, record, produce, and experiment freely. I work with the gear and plugins I can afford, and I make the most of every tool I have. I don't see that as a limitation so much as part of the process. I'm not interested in complaining about what I don't have, I'm focused on doing the best work I can with what I have now, while continuing to grow and improve so I can build something even better in the future.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Some of my biggest musical influences include Twenty One Pilots, Linkin Park, Mutemath, Paul Meany, Imogen Heap, Don Toliver, Stromae, Dead Poet Society, and The Warning. What inspires me most about these artists is their willingness to push boundaries while still creating music that connects emotionally. I'm particularly drawn to innovative production, creative sound design, strong rhythmic foundations, and songs that tell a story or build a larger artistic world around them. Paul Meany's production work, especially, has had a major influence on how I think about arrangement, texture, and experimentation. At the same time, artists like Twenty One Pilots and Linkin Park have shown me how different genres can be blended into something unique and authentic.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most important part of my work is understanding what the client is trying to achieve and helping them get there. I focus on clear communication, quick responses, and a collaborative process where feedback is welcomed throughout the project. Whether I'm producing, composing, or refining an idea, my goal is to make sure clients feel heard, supported, and confident that we're moving in the right direction together.
