Indie Producer, Band-In-A-Box

Producer and multi-instrumentalist for artists on Bar/None, K Records, and Tender Loving Empire. I've released several albums under my own name, and also worked with artists like Diners, Bory, Slippers, et al. Sometimes people describe my music as "power pop" or "lo-fi" or "analog"—all they mean is I use real drums and things with tubes in them.

I'm a producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Portland. Over the last decade I've worked on a number of critically-acclaimed indie records for artists such as Diners, Bory, and Slippers. I've also done film and television work for clients like Adult Swim.

My specialties: jangle stuff, power slop, independent rock, anything where the song is the (big) star. I've worked out of various recording facilities in Portland, OR and Los Angeles, CA, including: Red Lantern, Trash Treasury, Gold Diggers, New Monkey, Big Mazel, Dead Aunt Thelma’s, Revolver, Type Foundry, Singing Sands, Supernatural Sound, Magic Closet, my mom’s house, my mom’s basement, and my basement.

Band-in-a-box service: I can build a whole band around a rough sketch. Great for solo artists who don't have a band, or writers who want to hear a full arrangement before committing to studio time.

I'm also available for:
– Mixing (analog workflow, generally)
– Additional production / "fix my demo" / songwriting
– Guitar, bass, drum, or vocal overdubs
– Full tracking sessions (remote or in-person if you're in PDX)

Turnaround is usually 1–2 weeks depending on scope. Sometimes sooner! I'll get you the best sounding Rickenbacker 12-string tone this side of 1965.
