George Muldrew - Mixing/Mastering Engineer

George Muldrew - Mixing/Mastering Engineer on SoundBetter

I am a young (22) freelance producer/engineer offering mixing and mastering services for various musical genres. In summer 2014, I graduated with a distinction in HND Music Technology and have been working for over 4 years as a freelance recording and mixing engineer. My composing and arranging skills have been furthered by my increasing capabilities in the recording studio – it was here that my passion for sound production started. To establish more about producing music I enrolled on a Level 3 Music Technology course from which I achieved a triple grade distinction. To develop these skills I enrolled on a Higher National Diploma course, from which I gained another distinction.

Alongside studying the HND course I currently operate in a self-employed capacity as a studio owner, where services range from recording to mixing and mastering. From this outlet I have been able to work with a diverse catalogue of successful bands and solo artists, using previous work to put forward my services.

The song ‘Desert Wine’ by Joshua Burnside, which I recorded and mixed in my own studio, has been broadcast on both local and national radio stations BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Ulster. Recently I was featured on The BBC NI Arts Show, where, upon completing my HND2 Music Technology course with distinction, I was invited to engineer a recording session with a local band alongside being interviewed for television.

I have wide interest and understanding of a variety of musical styles and genres and being a session musician for several different genres has been key to this.

I work completely in-the-box (digitally).
