Pop centric producer/mixer with a keen ear for vocal production & radio-ready-mixes & staying true to your sound!
I pride myself on assisting your sonic identity and helping to elevate the vocal performance to the highest level possible! I've been lucky to work in many different genres while falling in love with the craft of finding the heart of a song. I moved from Philadelphia to Los Angeles in 2016 and dove head first into learning pop production with huge producers, artists & writers, learning first hand what makes a song both feel and sound special. I have written and produced with artists like Katy Perry, Jana Kramer, Maris, Set It Off, Vaultboy, Knox, Point North and more.
*** Is your song missing that extra magic dust on the vocals?

Interview with Bruce Wiegner
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What was the inspiration for the song? What do you feel the song is missing? What do you love about the song? What would an ideal reference be for this song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The more you can describe the vision you have and what made you work on this song, the better! More details = more info for me to work off of
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Apollo, Sm7, Coffee, My 4 string mini acoustic-uke-bass
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in bands in 2007 and after touring through many different projects (Warped Tour, US, UK, Australia) I found myself in a pop duo in 2014. The band moved to LA in 2016 from Philadelphia and thats when I leaned into pop production. After writing with a ton of talented writers and producers I was able to find my production voice. I was able to help Youtube artists launch viral hit singles and eventually was a writer-producer for "Electric" with Katy Perry for the Pokemon 20th Anniversary Celebration.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style tends to lean polished. I have no problem gritting it up but love to make it clear and loud
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Hayley Williams to me is the perfect example of an artist who has such a confident identity but still finds a way to show her vulnerable inconsistencies. Her lyrics (profound or cheeky) & melodies (powerhouse or sweet) would be so fun to produce around
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Start from the top. Looping a chorus will drive you crazy -- sometimes its just hitting play from the beginning and remembering to take the song is as a listener
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Everything from pop to kpop to rock to indie and r&b
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocal production & vocal mixing are very much my go-to as well as bringing life to a mix and finding a way to have it compete with mainstream playlists
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring an assurance. Helping guide the identity without conflicting layers. Letting the vocal be the center piece for the sonics to work around and compliment
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I love having a jumping off point. Whether thats a chord progression, vocal melody or a production that has some sort of heartbeat to it. Once I have that heartbeat I love to "throw paint at the wall" and try on different production outfits. The right sounds tend to stick out and make themselves known. It keeps the process fun & inspiring
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Mobile rig of an apollo twin + Sm7 & Neuman TLM 103. Studio is an Apollox6 with PMC twotwo6 monitors. I'm very in-the-box with my laptop being more important than my wallet
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a "melody is the universal language" type of musician so that + lyric combo leads me to Jon Bellion, Fred again, James Blake & Max Martin
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work involves production & vocal mixing. Some clients will ask for vocal mixing + additional production to help bring their song across the finish line.
