I help rock, pop & pop punk artists achieve powerful, clean, release-ready mixes. As a touring live and studio musician, I bring real-world depth, clarity, and energy into every track. Fast turnaround, free revisions, and a sound that translates at a professional level.
I’m a mixing engineer working across rock, pop, and pop punk, focused on creating mixes that feel powerful, clean, and ready for release. For me, it’s not just about how a track sounds—it’s about how it feels when it hits.
My background spans studio work, touring as a live musician, and working as a front-of-house engineer, which gives me a well-rounded perspective on music from every angle. I understand how songs translate from the studio to the stage and back again, and I bring that insight into every mix I work on.
Because of that, I’m always thinking about energy, impact, and clarity—making sure your track not only sounds polished, but still feels alive and true to you. Whether it’s building punch in the drums, creating space in the mix, or making sure vocals connect emotionally, everything I do is in service of the song.
I aim to keep the process smooth and collaborative, with fast turnaround times, open communication, and free revisions so you feel confident every step of the way.
If you’re looking for someone who understands both the technical and musical side of your sound—and can help you bring your vision to life—I’d love to work with you.

Interview with Joe Cooper
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Gold Bloom, Liverpool UK. A band I had the chance of co producing the record and playing a lot of the instruments along with it.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Ideally analog however I do use mostly digital equipment out of flexibility however there is no beating the warmth of an analog tape machine.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That im not leaving a track until we are 100% satisfied and in the same boat.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting new musicians, I am still a huge fan of music and this job lets me discover new artists not just work with them.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Gibson Les Paul Junior. MacBook Pro, UA interface, My beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro, Quad Cortex
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been immersed in music since I was 10, starting out as a musician and developing a passion for sound. I studied music production in college and earned my degree at Sunderland University. By 18, I was touring professionally, gaining experience in studios and venues across England. Since then, I’ve traveled the world as both a musician and live audio engineer, bringing that real-world experience into every track I mix today.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is laid-back, collaborative, and focused on making artists happy. I aim for mixes that feel natural, punchy, and polished, bringing out the best in the music while keeping the process fun and stress-free.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with most artists as I try to keep my range of style open, however if I had to pick one artist to work with it would be Spacey Jane, an amazing artist with some much unique style.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Balance the track and don't gravitate to throwing a bunch of outboard gear and plug ins on to fix things. Often I've found that the less I do the more big sounf=ding a track could be.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop punk and rock.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I’m great at communicating and listening, making sure your vision comes through while creating mixes that are balanced, clear, and full of energy.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring energy, clarity, and punch from my experience as a touring musician, live FOH, and studio engineer, making every song feel alive and impactful.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: You send me your stems, and I craft a punchy, clean mix that keeps your track’s energy intact. I share versions, get your feedback, and refine until it’s polished, powerful, and release-ready.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of a fully treated, custom home studio designed for fast, high-quality work. I can record most instruments right here, with multiple guitars, electronic samplers, drum kits, and more, giving me the flexibility to capture exactly what each track needs.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My influences range from Buddy Holly to Green Day, and I draw mixing inspiration from engineers like Butch Vig and Michael Brauer to craft punchy, dynamic, and lively mixes.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is remote mixing, which allows me to collaborate with artists anywhere in the world. You send me your stems, I mix them to bring out the best in your track, and we can refine it together through revisions until you’re completely satisfied.
