I'm Michael. I have two artist projects of my own, Montessori and SOBIG, and I write, produce, and mix for hire.
I work at the intersection of indie, electronic, and experimental sound design, and I don't believe in keeping music in a box. As an artist myself, I will be able to bring a unique perspective to your productions and mixes.
Based in Highland Park, I work with independent artists who are serious about their sound and open to pushing it in new directions. Whether you're bringing a fully formed vision or a rough idea that needs shape, I'm here to help. I've been mentored and trained by Beck's producers and engineers, as well as worked with him myself.
On the production side, I specialize in ear candy and fleshing out demos. I have experience with both warm, grounded folk and rock tracks, as well as hyperpop adjacent, outlandish electronic music.
On the mixing side, I focus on depth and emotional impact. I think a mix should have a character and bold elements of interest, not just a sterile but adequate representation of a song. I'm currently taking on new clients for production and mixing. I will work with you to make sure you are completely satisfied with the end result.
