Interview with KRFMAGA
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production, they tell me the type of vibes they want and I just let the crazy out.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I will be proud of a project when it changes the whole world.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: One new track every week on Fridays and possibly remixes on Monday soon.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not really.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because I'm not 100 and a million great songs were made on computers anyway.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'm gonna make you feel like the only client in the world. But I hope Rihanna doesn't read that.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The raw energy of music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long will it take? And that answer always depends, quality over everything.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't think there is one.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Can you make this type of music? Producers are a lot more diverse than you think.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask yourself what you want and ask me a million questions.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop and headphones, absolutely nothing else.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I learnt how to make beats at 16 and YouTube was my Yoda.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm a hippie producer, EDM all about vibes and stuff.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Apart from whoever is reading this, Diplo. He is a complete visionary.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Multiband sidechain compression, you have no idea!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Chilled tropical house, EDM Pop but the hard styles come every now and then.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Refer to the last question.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: An executive's ear, I can tell you whether or not a song will work and not to sound arrogant but I'm usually right.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I refuse to answer this one, I'm an artist first and foremost so it may be spontaneous but the job will be done.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Nothing crazy, all the plugin magic, trusty KRK's, a MIDI controller, interface and my vintage set of ears.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: KSHMR, Kygo, Martin Garrix, Skrillex, Zomboy, Diplo and Major Lazer. I don't have to tell you why, I just don't.
