Offir Benjaminov

Crossover Bass Player

Offir Benjaminov on SoundBetter

During 10 years of performing and recording the electric bass with my band, TATRAN, I have shared stages with ensembles like Incubus, Snarky Puppy, Knower and Bad Bad Not Good. In using progressive sound processors, I elevate the bass’ tonality beyond the traditional range, pushing the boundaries of pitch, melody, groove context and bass roles.

As a professional bass player, I have experience in the studio and in the open field. The anchor of my career is my band TATRAN, co-founded in Tel Aviv with Dan Mayo (Best Drummer in the World, MusicRadar 2017) and Tamuz Dekel (an innovator in the field of guitar). With TATRAN, I have composed, produced and recorded 8 albums, and toured in over 20 countries. In addition, I am running my solo project BENJA.

Over years of obsessive practice and research, I developed a unique style which combines post rock and classical influences with psychedelic and ambiance touches. I enjoy experimenting with the process of sound creation using pitch shifters, octaves, filters and delay/reverb in order to manipulate the bassline, making it fatter, thinner, softer or sharper. I also play guitar and piano and bring this know-how to every project.

I am familiar with a broad range of genres like Rock, Punk, classical, Jazz, Latin music and more. I have played and recorded with top Israeli artists, including Shlomo Gronich, Luna Abu Nassar, Johnny Goldstein andmore. My career also brought me to the experience of making music for movies and TV.

If you are looking for a different approach to composition, and a bassline that sounds unique and natural at the same time, talk to me. I have high-quality gear, and can record under ideal conditions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
