B. D. Rosa is a composer/producer based in Brooklyn with a vibrant imagination and ardent work ethic. Originally from Portugal, Rosa exudes the same tenacity as his world-sailing ancestors. In pursuit of his passion for music, he has attended some of the most prestigious music conservatories in the world, including the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Under the tutorship of Dr. Richard Danielpour, Rosa has written a diverse body of work influenced by classical, jazz, and electronic music.
Grounded in a scholarly background and innate talent, he is an autonomous producer and performer, able to compose for a wide range of genres and formats. His most recent projects include full orchestral pieces, an electronic sound sculpture commissioned by The Ocean We Inhabit, org., and a healthy portfolio of dance and ambient-electronic music. His published works are, in part, available through M.P.M.P. (Patrimonial Movement for Portuguese Music).
Much like his personality, his music is vibrant, bold, and iridescent. He continues to find animating soundscapes by exploring the intersecting currents of the old and new. B. D. Rosa graduated from Manhattan School of Music in 2017.
