Interview with Eren Senbay
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Leaving an impact on people..
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have over 6 years in the industry, with many more growing up and working on projects for myself. After some time in Turkey working across studios and with various artists I've now settled down in Melbourne to expand my reach here.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style in one word would be Iconic. I aim to create tracks that are always able to be played to an audience, and are easily repeatable.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: An artist I've always dreamed of working with would be Charlie Puth. A soft spot in my heart, as he was the main reason I was able to get into this industry in the first place.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never get too caught up in one section of a song when still producing the rest of it. It will stint your workflow.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Specializing in (but not limited to); Adult Contemporary Pop, Alt Pop, Indie Pop, R&B (and all subcategories), Hip-Hop, Trap, Drill, Jersey, House, EDM, Dance, Techno, Soul + more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is the creativity I bring to each project. I'm able to quickly song-write and formulate songs in a matter of minutes and more often than not pass those on to artists who deserve the tracks.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a sense of creativity and hit making to a song that is needed for this industry. The mindset of 'every song can be a hit' is crucial to remember when working on a track, as every decision has to be made in accordance to that.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The typical work process I use when working with clients remotely is to first take their project pitch, and after some back and forth come back to them with a first demo. On which feedback and a proper version can be achieved.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Often, an initial demo or mixdown will be completed at my home studio in Melbourne, then after a brief review phase, the work will then move to a professional studio in which all major work is undergone. Clients are also made to be met at the professional studio.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I always aspire for the projects I work on to have the same audio fidelity as some of the greats. Aiming to always reference and be inspired by the teams who work behind artists such as Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Work generally involves music production, songwriting and work as a mixing engineer. With some work being undergone as a mastering engineer to some degree.
