
John Panfili is an award-winning Los Angeles–based film composer, arranger, orchestrator, and pianist whose music blends cinematic orchestration with a storyteller’s sensitivity. His work has been heard in theaters across the United States, and he's been awarded the Zachary Booher award for best music and IndieX award for best original song.
John Panfili is an award winning Los Angeles-based film composer, arranger, orchestrator, and pianist whose music blends cinematic orchestration with a storyteller’s sensitivity. His music has appeared in theaters across America and in the spring of 2024, he won the Zachary Booher Award for best music at the ASU film showcase for the short film Life in Full Bloom and in 2026, he won the IndieX film festival award for Best Original Song for Rings of Power. His music often blends warm orchestral colors with intimate piano writing, drawing on influences from jazz harmony, classic film scoring, and contemporary cinematic soundscapes.
He went on to score Metamorphosis, Echoes of War, Needles, The Vagabond, and the feature documentary Go Tell That!. His musical abilities span genres such as classic film score, orchestral, jazz, epic orchestra, pop, and electronic styles, unified by a commitment to emotional clarity and narrative depth.
In 2025 his arrangement of The Wild Robot by Kris Bowers was recorded by the CSUN Studio Ensemble and professional LA studio musicians at the legendary Evergreen Recording Studios. John is determined to finish your story through his musical storytelling.
