Interview with Prodbycaleeb

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Worked on a song with my guy Jaytee600 called "wartime" on his new project "A Family Thing". I think it was some of his best rapping yet, and I know one day his hard work and talent will payoff because of it. I am just happy to be apart of his future success.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Few songs with a few artists I met from posting my beats online and through Instagram.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I will be available to help you at all times of day

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: I think a lot of people, especially those who do not listen to alternative hip-hop or that style of production, think the beats are not coherent and are bad

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: I usually ask if the song is going to be a single, EP, or album and their plans on releasing it in the next month or later on in the future. I

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: I would say be as specific as possible when asking for a certain type of beat. I have a huge catalogue and no one knows my music better than me so if you have an example of a beat you want to hear more of, I could probably find 3-5 beats you would be happy with.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I have been doing this since I was a freshman in high school. I always knew the enjoyment from making beats and listening to music was special, and it was not until 2-3 years ago that I deciding to become more serious and began creating and posting music daily. From there a few people began to notice me and then I started to collaborate with other artists, and people began to buy my beats. I would not say I am new to this, but I am just getting started in terms of where I can see my career going.

  15. Q: How would you describe your style?

  16. A: I would definitely say my style is avant-garde and sometimes my beats do not sound like the usually beat you might hear today. Over time I have tried to find a niche, and get really good at perfecting the overall sound for that niche and I would say I am really good at producing sample type beats that incorporate samples from the past to make a soulful style of Hip-Hop or Rap.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: Would love to work with MIKE or Earl Sweatshirt because my production is similar to what they have been known to rap over.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: Alternative Hip-Hop usually.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: I would say when it comes to music my ear for sampling is really strong and I have a great imagination when it comes to creating beats and seeing my ideas come to life.

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: The production I give to a song gives the artist room to rap, and I would say my production inspires artists to sit down with a pen and feel inspired.

  25. Q: What's your typical work process?

  26. A: Over time I have got into the habit of finding 20-30 minutes everyday to make and upload a beat to my profiles and by doing this I have learned key fundamentals about beat making which have only made me better.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: I make beats and then send out packs to clients I have worked with before or that have been suggested to me by someone else.
