Specializing in electronic, pop, and indie, IfSoWhatFor is an engineering and production duo composed of Nathan Koenig and Jamis DeKay, based in Brooklyn, NY.
After earning a music production and engineering degree from Berklee College of Music, Nathan has recorded, written, produced, and mixed professionally since 2023.
Jamis is the touring bassist for the indie-rock band Dogpark, and is a multi-instrumentalist who songwrites and sings.
Together they have co-produced and co-written for nearly four years both for their own project (IfSoWhatFor) and for artists in the industry.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most frequent work we see is receiving processed or dry stems of entire projects for a full mixdown. If creative/production elements are requested, we will make decisions where we see fit and offer a return bounce of the project for their approval.

We allow 1 revision with notes per mixing hire, and 3 remote video calls per production hire. Typical turnaround time for mixing is 3 days and production work is 10 days.
