Tasteful Basslines with Swiss Precision - high-quality remote recordings, studio sessions, live performances
My approach: serve the song first.
Sometimes that means reduced to the max — sometimes it calls for creative, lively basslines that add character and motion. The music and the groove always lead the way. One of my strengths is picking up on the mood and energy of a song and developing it further. I see the bassline as a counterpoint to the melody, a tool to make the voice shine — and to glue the vibe of a song together. My playing style is described as lively yet restrained, very precise and balanced. To ensure your satisfaction, please let me know what you expect from the bass line.
My sound is vintage-inspired yet modern: warm, elegant, and classy — always mix-ready and musical.
Think character and depth without excess.
For remote recordings, you get two tracks: DI signal and microphone. I work with an Ampeg Portaflex B15. (You can hear examples of this sound in the audio samples)

Interview with Andreas Wyss
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Vintage-inspired modernity. Song-oriented, lively but subtle.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Music production is about creating a mood, making a statement. Never do something just because you can; first ask yourself whether it reinforces the artistic statement of the song.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We work until your music shines
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I received my first drum lessons when I was three years old, switched to bass at age 10, turned professional at age 14, received my master's degree in music at age 22 in 2021.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Dodie, Trevor Horn or Finneas: all three are creative geniuses.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop & Indie-Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say that I am creative and very precise at the same time. I can immediately empathize with various types of music. Good sense of humor, as people say.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My bass lines bring life to the song and leave room for the music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the song/demo version. Depending on the customer's wishes—or the vibe—I choose the instrument and amp settings. I record 2-3 versions, each with two tracks: DI and amp. If desired, I make adjustments to the sound or bass line.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Instrument - Rupert Neve DI - Ampeg Portaflex B15 - Microphone - Universal Apollo 8x - PSI Audio Monitors
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I find great inspiration in the works of Debussy, Ravel and Mahler. I am also very impressed by the work of Dodie, Blake Mills, Common Saints, Finneas, Kacey Musgraves, Trevor Horn, The Impressions, and John Mayer. My favourite bass players: James Jamerson, Pino Palladino, Gail Ann Dorsey
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Studio Sessions, Remote Recordings and playing live on stage.
