Oleg Maximov is a professional guitarist, arranger, transcription and notation specialist with a Bachelor of Music degree from Russia’s oldest jazz institution of higher learning – the Moscow State College of Jazz.
I have studied several different styles of guitar playing, from swing and big-band era jazz to bebop, modern jazz, and fusion. I have also studied blues, pop and classical music. My musical training also included studying composition, arranging, harmony and audio engineering. I have studied with some of the top Russian teachers, whose students also included Grammy-winning trumpeter Alex Sipiagin and the Mingus Big-Band bassist, Boris Kozlov.
For the past several years I have worked professionally as a guitarist in a variety of bands and orchestras in Moscow. I have participated and became a laureate in several music competitions in Russia, such as "Gnesin-Jazz," "Piano in Jazz," "The Many Faces of Guitar," and "Guitar Virtuosos."
I offer a full range of musical services, including the following:

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm building my professional career.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Mainly, I'm a jazz guitarist influenced by classic jazz guitar sound.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog and digital. Every moment needs it's own solution. The result must sounds flawless, don't matter what gear was used to get this.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will do my best to overcome your expectations. My work will be done in time and with all the patience.

A: How much it costs? My answer: lower than anywhere else for the same quality.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was born in musician's family and I loved music from the early years. I started play guitar only when I was 14 years old. Now I'm 26, so I have 12 years of musical experience. After finishing high school I moved to Moscow, and entered to Moscow State College of Jazz. I've ended college with perfect diploma in 2016.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Guitar playing. I just in love with the instrument.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Jazz, pop, Latin, blues, classical music. I have my own Jazz trio. I've been working in big-bands and theatres equally in combos, duos and solo playing.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Versatility. For years I've been studying an electric guitar along with classical guitar and acoustic guitar with steel strings. I can provide a wide range of guitar sounds from smooth clean chords to overdriven solos.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a tasteful guitar sound to the song. I give an particular attention to rhythm and harmony. You will get a track where every guitar note is on the right place.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired with many Jazz legends such as Pat Metheny, Ron Carter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and many others. as for the currently working artists I'm inspired of Snarky Puppy and all GroundUp label artists.
